  • TransferIN Indiana - This information will help you learn more about college admissions, financial aid, dual credit and much more. In addition to the admissions and financial aid sites, you will find links to college and university homepages. You also have access to information that will help you determine your eligibility to receive college credit for courses and exams completed during high school.

    The Indiana Department of Education presents College Night in Indiana. The goal of this event is to provide college admission information to high school students and parents throughout Indiana in a live format, using professionals in admission offices to answer questions and guide families through the process.   • Can't decide between a two-year or four-year college? Vocational or community? Here are the differences between them:

    Vocational: Shorter programs mean preparation for a specific career or job. Programs are usually 2 years or less. (Harrison College, ITT Technical Institute, Rogers Academy of Hair Design, The Salon Professional Academy, etc.)

    Community or Junior College: Build up credits toward an associates degree and eventually a university degree without expensive tuition costs. Programs are usually 2 years with the option of transferring to a 4-year college or university. (Ivy Tech, Vincennes University, Wabash Valley College, etc.)

    Four-year College or University: Broader curriculum encourages a variety of interests and is beneficial in the job market. (USI, University of Evansville, Indiana University, Purdue University, Indiana State University, etc.)

  • Learn More Indiana has joined with a variety of partners to kick off a new college access campaign, called KnowHow2GOIndiana. This campaign is part of the national KnowHow2GO effort led by the Ad Council, American Council on Education and the Lumina Foundation for Education.

    The statewide campaign is designed to encourage students, especially those who will be the first in their families to pursue college, to take the necessary steps to turn their dreams of going to college into a reality.

  • www.eligibilitycenter.org - All students who plan to participate in Division I or Division II college athletics must register with the NCAA Clearinghouse. Students must meet all eligibility requirements and complete the online registration as early as possible senior year.

    Checklist for student-athletes:

    • Download and become familiar with the current Guide for the College-Bound Student-Athlete. - Download Guide
    • Make sure you are on track for the Core 40 Diploma and compare your credits with those required for the NCAA. The requirements are similar but not exactly the same.
    • Register online with the NCAA at the end of junior year or beginning of senior year.
    • Complete the amateurism questionnaire completely and truthfully
    • Ask your guidance counselor to send your transcript to the NCAA at the end of junior year. The NCAA will look at 6 semesters of work for initial eligibility.
    • Take the SAT and/or ACT during spring of junior year and use the code "9999" to have your official scores sent directly to the Eligibility Center. Scores sent by the high school will not be accepted.
    • Check with your guidance counselor to make sure you are on track to graduate on time and have the required amount of core courses.
    • Request final amateurism certification during your senior year after April 1
    • Ask your guidance counselor to submit your final high school transcript with proof of graduation after your complete senior year
